Sound Housing Cooperative
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Sound Housing Cooperative (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through soundhousing.coop, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or submitting a form, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Sound Housing Cooperative is a member-controlled nonprofit cooperative organized under RCW 24.06 in King County, Washington. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us at hello@soundhousing.coop [add mailing address].
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our waitlist or interest form, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number (optional); and
- any message or details you choose to share.
We only ask for what we need to follow up with you about membership or supporting the cooperative.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) to keep the site running and secure. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
A note on fonts and scripts
Our site loads typefaces from Google Fonts and a software library from a content delivery network. When your browser requests these, those providers may receive your IP address. We do not control their practices; see their respective privacy notices.
3. How we use your information
- To contact you about membership, events, and the work of the cooperative;
- To respond to your questions and requests;
- To operate, maintain, and improve our website; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
4. How we store and protect your information
Form submissions are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in a United States region. We protect your information with:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest;
- Access controls — our public website can only add submissions, never read them; only authorized cooperative staff can view your details; and
- Reputable providers for hosting and security (Supabase, Cloudflare).
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us operate (for example, our database and website hosts), and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to stay in touch with you about the cooperative, or until you ask us to delete it. [Optional: state a specific retention period, e.g. “up to 3 years after last contact.”]
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- see the information we hold about you;
- correct or update it; or
- delete it.
To make a request, email hello@soundhousing.coop. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Washington My Health My Data Act or other state privacy laws. [Have counsel confirm which apply.]
8. Children’s privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Cookies
We currently do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or other cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent. [Update this section if you add analytics.]
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated to you directly.
